Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, he began his professional musical career as a gospel music Drummer. Performing with various churches and mass choirs. In 1984 he was given the opportunity to secure a drumming position with Portrait Band, a Top 40, R&B Show and Dance Band. Portrait toured and performed the US, Caribbean, and throughout Asia. Eventually making Hawaii home. Konrad then began performing with some of Hawaiiʼs greatest entertainers.
Keeping an open mind to all genreʼs of music and performance, Konrad took his skills to N.Y., auditioned and joined the International Rhythm Sensation show Stomp. Performing off Broadway in N.Y. , and on tour in the US. He later switched to Stomp Europe, and spent 6 years performing to nearly 50 different countries with an internationally diverse cast.
Konrad gained a wealth of knowledge in theatre and performance, in which he was promoted to the Rehearsal Director position for that cast.
Currently an Istanbul Mehmet Cymbal endorsee, Konrad is back in Hawaii performing, and involved in many different types of musical expressions: Jazz, Rock, Hawaiian, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Soul and R&B, using Hand Percussion, Body Percussion, Acoustic and Electronic drumming.
